Getting a new PC is exciting and a pain. It is exciting because you get a faster processor, more storage and all the latest stuff even though it is outdated as soon as it hits your desk. The pain comes with re-installing all of your programs, re-customizing your preferences for programs, applications, and Windows, and transferring data to the new PC. |

Several reports and white papers emphasizing the performance benefits of SSDs have already been published, and hard disk drive makers such as Samsung have expressed interest in this storage line. The only remaining question is, are SSDs a viable alternative for price-conscious buyers who are running performance-hungry OLTP apps? |

After twelve years of owning desktop computers, I finally opted for a laptop so I would no longer be chained to my desk. After months of research and weighing various makes and models, I settled on the Dell Inspiron 600m Notebook Computer. This particular model has exceeded all of my expectations and at a price that is hundreds of dollars lower than many competing brands. |

Years ago computers were huge and their accompanying printers were huge as well. Instead of ink cartridges like those used now, they had toner reservoirs and later toner cartridges. Filling a toner cartridge was not easy and it was messy. |

USB drives are very small rewritable storage media for your PC, they can be anywhere from 32 megabytes well over a gigabyte! Despite their growing storage capacity and lowering cost, they can quite literally fit on your keychain! To give you an idea on the size of these drives, they are roughly 3 inches long, under an inch wide and weight almost nothing. |
